Passenger stock on the Ahrtalbahn

Since Nov 5, 2000 new railcars class 643 of the "Talent" family are used for passenger services.

Until then, rolling stock consisted of class 215 Bo-Bo diesel engines with 3 coaches in a push-pull configuration.

Historically since the end of WWII steam locomotives of the classes 93 and 86 pulled the passenger trains until about the mid-60s. Since then diesel powered railcars (class 795) and center-cab engines of the class V100 (211, 212, 213) took over.

Since the introduction of the Regionalbahn concept class 218 electrical heated and later class 215 steam heated engines run the line.
